Blog 9

New bar opened in October 2007 on Ekamai near Soi 9 has really taken off. Interior is large, modern and inviting and has the standard bar menu meaning predominantly bottles of whiskey. Low seats throughout minimize opportunities for mingling. Mix between DJ playing hip hop and r & b and local bands. An alternative to Santika with another large crowd and high energy.

  • Tunage: Standard DJ with hip-hip and R&B mixed with local Thai bands playing rock
  • Dance Floor: no
  • Cocktails: reasonable selection but mostly a whiskey bar
  • Drinks: Johnnies in the house
  • Price: moderate
  • Location: Ekamai between Soi 7 and 9
  • Seating: plenty of low seats to choose from with sparatic stools placed throughout holds 100s
  • Ambiance: loud but roomy and modern
  • Pickup: pretty good chance
  • Overall: assuming the place gets a crowd this place is a viable alternative to Santika
Mike Sightings: My first visit left me unimpressed as we were 2 of 10 people in the place on a Thursday. More recently I went on a Saturday and was happy to see this place has really picked up. Check out some photos of my Saturday visit. Not as many farang as Santika but that will change.

Yeah this place is really picked up.The band is quite good but this is a comment from a girl who knows nothing about music though.You guys better prove it by yourself.

All staffs are very welcome and treat you very well.

Blog 9 is my latest fav now.
