Opened recently in Liberty House at the top of Thonglor, Bar Groove offers a nice lounge feel with live Thai music. Bottles are reasonably priced from 900 to 1500 baht however cocktails are on the steep side at 180 baht and up. Bar Groove is the type of venue that Q Bar should be with a spacious main floor and a large balcony overlooking the scene below. This venue draws a mostly Thai crowd and a light one at that which is unfortunate as the atmosphere has all the components to make this a success.
- Tunage: standard live Thai band interchanged with DJ top 40s
- Dance Floor: no
- Cocktails: reasonable selection but quite pricey at 180 baht and up
- Drinks: bottles will be the lightest load on your wallet here starting at 900
- Price: cheap (for bottles)
- Location: Thonglor between Soi 20 and Petchburi
- Seating: plenty of tables and chairs over two floors make this place able to hold over 200
- Ambiance: very trendy and comfortable feel
- Pickup: fun but small crowd seems eager to mingle meaning a pickup could be in your future
- Overall: small crowd but nice feel make this a reasonable alternative if you're looking for a change of pace
Mike Sightings: Although hard to find Liberty House has several bars with Bar Groove being the classiest. This place leaves me thinking how good it could be with a dance floor and heavier crowd. While I might not seek it out again I'd be open to going if the suggestion was made by friends
